This reading is different than my other readings. It is a message of love and compassionate guidance in response to the uproar that has occurred as a result of the US Presidential Election. This message is intended to help and empower anyone experiencing negative emotions-either within you or around you. I meditated and sought divine guidance asking the question, “How can I be of loving service?” The answer was to deliver this message with compassion, love and no judgement. I hope this message will spread some much needed love. If you find this message helpful, please share it with others you believe could benefit. I also encourage you to acknowledge the comments section of this blog as a community-please share kind words, words of encouragement and support, as well as, resources for advocacy and activism. Thank you.
Let me start this with a personal observation. Since the election, when I have checked in with social media and the news-I have been disturbed-it is like observing a scene from “The Exorcist” on my newsfeed….like a salted wound....like a forest fire being fueled. Initial reactions can be so emotionally charged and hurtful. I see so much fear and anger being expressed, but can solutions and wise decisions come from a place of fear and anger? Everyone deserves to process their feelings and I encourage you to do so but can those feelings be channeled into positive action? Can you fight fear or anger with love? Anger and fear are very low vibrations and I think we need the higher vibrations of peace, love and productive passion for a purpose. Fear can come from feeling helpless and powerless-so I encourage you to take back your power by asking “what can I do?” Empower yourself and empower others. On the bright side, I also see an aliveness, passion for purpose, empathy, courage and a sense of community on social media. I encourage you to proceed with caution as there is a very delicate balance in “do no harm, but take no sh*t.”
You might think this is cheesy but I had to take a step back and ask what would my spiritual guru(s) do? (Whatever happened to those bracelets...WWJD?) I suggest you do the same. In the face of anger, fear, hate, outrage…”what would [insert your spiritual guru] do? Would they shame, judge, name call or point fingers? Would they take action from a place of love and hope?
I don’t think I have ever spent as much time meditating and being in hibernation as I have over the past week. It is so important to find your peace within, which for me required living in the moment and not fearing for the future. It is from a place of peace, that clarity and solutions can be found. I decided this would be a good time to go inward for some self-reflection, “shadow work” and reviewing my core values. What do I fear? What do I see as social injustice? What can I honestly and lovingly do about it?
The overwhelming message from the cards is about “speaking your truth.” The color blue is the dominant color in all of these cards which represents the throat chakra as well as spirituality. This means to speak your soul’s truth-speak from your heart. Stand up for your core values and beliefs-especially if you feel they are threatened. Speak your truth politely, with love and conviction. Ask your angels and/or spirit guides to protect you and guide your words as you say them. What can love do to extinguish fear and anger? I don’t think judging others will solve any problems. I don't think pointing fingers and name calling is going to earn much respect or solution-based answers. Judging, pointing fingers and name-calling create a separateness, an "us against them" mentality and defensiveness. Think about what happens when someone feels shamed? They feel rejected, they get defensive, guarded and angry. What good can come of that? Focus on what you want (such as fairness, peace and harmony) rather than on what you don't want or fear.
Success can mean many things to the ego self, but the soul only knows one triumph and that is to love. When we die, our soul doesn’t die. It crosses over to the other side-to Heaven and spends a period of time reflecting back on how successful it was in life on earth. Our soul reviews its success in life based on love and overcoming obstacles and life lessons with love and compassion. It is how deeply we loved and received love. In the infinite wisdom of the Universe, the more love you demonstrate, the more you will receive.
It’s apparent that passions have been ignited and people have identified their core values and the things they cannot tolerate-people have found their “cause.” Bravo-don’t you feel alive? So rather than focusing energy on labeling and judging an individual or group as evil, wrong or stupid...can we fight that intolerable “system” instead? Stand up against “the system” of bullying, racism, sexism, LGBTQ rights, environmental rights, animal rights, etc. Focus your energy on the solution, not the problem-don’t give your energy to the disease, give your energy to the cure. If you fear injustice, than volunteer to serve against abolishing that injustice. Fight that injustice with love. Ask yourself, “How can I be of loving service?” What if we transmuted anger and fear into a loving energy and productive passion for a purpose? Be a spiritual warrior for a cause. If you want change, be the change.
You have identified what you are passionate about. So now is the time to educate yourself about that cause and serve with love. Educate yourself and educate others. Attend workshops and seminars that inspire you and give you the knowledge and resources you need to make a positive difference. Educate yourself on civil rights and laws. Use the Internet and local library for research. Search for advocacy/activism/volunteer opportunities, sign petitions, find your “community,” discuss your values and causes you are interested in with family and friends, rally support with family and friends, use social media (positively and lovingly), know your rights and those rights associated with your cause, write to political representatives, etc. Go with the flow of opportunities and don’t panic. You need to be sure to process your emotions and advocate from a peaceful and loving place.
I will use “bullying” as an example of how to lovingly advocate. Rather than add fuel to the bully fire-put that fire out by lovingly standing up for the person(s) being bullied. Let victims know they are not alone, that you care and that community matters. Don’t give any energy to the bully, instead give your energy/your love to the victim. How can you fight bullying with love? Stand next to and offer comfort and support to the person being bullied. This might even be a peaceful and silent stance of support in public-the subway, bus, restaurant...don’t turn a “blind eye.” Report hate crimes. How does pointing fingers and judging-this bully is ignorant, stupid, uneducated-solve bullying? Stand next to the person being bullied, walk home with them-they need the support. Offer to call for help. Report, report, report. Don’t let them be alone with the bully. This is a time when communities can come together in love to support each other.
I’ll end this with saying...I am happy to be alive, humbled for my blessings and proud to be an American. I believe everything happens for a reason-what tests us makes us stronger and wise. I believe in my community and I believe that love will always win. Take care of yourself and take care of others!
-My throat chakra is open to its perfect, healthy state and is spinning with the beautiful energy of freedom and self-empowerment. I am free to express myself in every way.
